cho-sun-ok-chicago-chadolThe Windy City offers a great variety of dining options. With so many restaurants in the Chicago area serving mouthwatering dishes, there are some Korean restaurants worth mentioning.

San Soo Gab San is a 24 hour Korean restaurant in Chicago located on the corner of Western and Foster; just 25 minutes from Downtown Chicago. This Korean barbecue restaurant offers high-quality marinated meat cooked over charcoal cooked right in front of you. San Soo Gab San is known for the abundance and variety of its Korean side dishes (banchan) including: romaine lettuce, Korean potato salad, glass noodles, kimchee, and bean sprouts.

Cho Sun Ok has been in business for over three decades. This cozy, mom ‘n pop Korean restaurant located in the Lincoln Square area specializes in cha-dol-bae-gi, which is a very-thin-sliced unmarinated brisket cooked over a stone pan. Although cha-dol-bae-gi is its main attraction, Korean food lovers really comes to Cho Sun Ok for the fried rice made out of your banchan leftovers cooked on the stone pan with additional kimchee and rice.

Whether you are a Korean barbecue fan in Chicago, or a Dolsot Bibimbap lover, or a first timer, there are tons of Korean restaurants in Chicago to explore this amazing and enticing cuisine.

being korean and from the city i’ve eaten out more than a few times. i really feel, and i’m not along, that san soo gab san is overprices and the service is terrible. they do service lots of panchan and they’re open late but i don’t think it makes up for the previous two issues that they have.
hae woon dae serves everything from hot pot, to bbq to great bibimbop. they’re in West Ridge on California at Rosemont. They’re also open late and the prices are reasonable.
